I found this article called “15 Amazing Castles”. They are indeed amazing. I was disappointed that none that we have seen are on the list, but we will make a point of seeing the one in Segovia, Spain this fall. I’d say that this group is definitely bucket list worthy.

I’m proud to say that I’ve visited one of these amazing castles: Schloss Neuschwanstein in Germany. I have to say that it was one of the most breathtaking experiences in my life, both figuratively and literally lol. It’s quite a steep hike to get up there, unless you opt to pay a fee and take the shuttle, but where’s the fun in that? 🙂 If ever you decide to visit there, I definitely suggest hiking up just a little ways past the castle to Marien Brücke (Mary’s Bridge). There you’ll find one of the most awe-inspiring views you’ll ever see, trust me it’s worth it!
Germany is on our list and will definitely take that advice
Very cool.
I’m always impressed by castles that have also been updated for comfortable living inside.
Arundel was like that and so was Hever. We saw parts in both but not all of the living spaces
Segovia is amazing and not just for the castle. This is my story: http://anotherbagmoretravel.wordpress.com/2012/01/15/segovia-the-alcazar-walt-disneys-castle-perhaps/
I also visited Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. It was spectacular. It’s also the castle that served as the inspiration for the Cinderella castle at Disney.
I read that somewhere. Maybe next year, already got this year planned. The one in Edinburgh looks crazy.
Was this a real estate listing?? I’m interested in the “house” in Scotland…how much are they asking?? 😉
More than I can afford, although i don’t get 300 hair things done. Obviously you could afford it
😛
