Pink Floyd is an interesting study in the evolution of rock from its earliest roots to present day.  The band was formed in 1965, with original members Roger Waters, Nick Mason, Richard Wright and Syd BarrettDavid Gilmour came on board in 1967 as the 5th member of the band.  The band is famous for its very successful albums, “Dark Side of the Moon”, “Wish You Were Here”, “Animal” and”The Wall”.  Prior to this, the band was noted for its progressive and psychedelic sounds.  This was perfected on their earlier album from 1969, “Ummagumma“.  From this double album comes their classic concert favourite, “Careful With That Axe, Eugene“.  The video attached is a live version of this song performed in 1973.  It is not quite what people expect from Pink Floyd, but is a perfect platform from which their later classics came from.
