Music Video Made with Jelly Beans???

These are my Jelly Belly jelly beans, and you ...

This is a very cool video.  The work, the thought , the time that went into this is incredible.  Kina Grannis wanted to do something different and this, most definitely, is different.  The idea came from Greg Jardin, the director of the film.  The song “In Your Arms” is a nice piece, made extraordinary by this video.  The list below says it all.

To create a 3:25 video required:

22 months
1,357 hours
30 people
2 ladders
1 still camera
288,000 jelly beans

Enjoy, and appreciate the talent and work that created this.  The first insert is “THE VIDEO”.  The second describes the making of the film.  This is well worth the watch.

  1. I saw this video. Blew me away!
Making of was cool too, but probably the most inefficient way ever to make a video.
Wonder what they did with the jellybeans after…

  2. No kidding on the inefficiency. 1357 hours is a lot of time over 22 months and she was in almost every shot and to create 3 minutes of magic. Good question on the beans haha.

  3. My goodness! My first reaction* when I saw the music video was “naw, can’t be.” So I had to see the making, and I liked that even more than the song. Whoa. Amazing stuff. I don’t know which record label would fund a music video that takes almost two years to complete! Reminded me of the making of Chicken Run. I definitely will have to post a referral to this post about the making-of video on my blog!

    * My second reaction was, also, what happened to the beans… that everyone touched.

    1. Very very interesting. the reaction i have been getting from people has been Why? I have no real answer for that except Why Not! One heck of a lot of work for what might have turned out to be nothing. That is art for you. Give it your best shot and see what happens.
