It has been 33 or so years since we were sitting on that beach on Lake Winnipeg around the campfire. You confessed that you kind of liked me, and wanted to break up with your boy friend and be with me. You did say it pretty quietly (he was asleep in a tent not to far away), but I did catch it and frankly, it changed my life. It was slow and you had to work pretty hard at it, but I did start to grow up eventually, at least a little bit. We have had a great run, with a zillion friends, great sons and a lifetime of awesome memories to relive for the rest of our lives, not to mention the new ones we will be creating in the future. You are the one who is responsible for this, and I love you for it.
Heartfelt, eloquent and simple.
Beautiful, John
It’s always the women who make us feel lucky…
So true, so true. May you both have the same success in life that we have had.
This is a lovely post, John. Here’s to many wonderful memories together yet to be made.
Thanks Sandy. We’ll keep making them, gives me lots of new material.
