A Nice Day For A Skate

We went for a skate the other day at Bowness Park in Calgary.  Unfortunately we couldn’t skate through the forest as that portion of the creek was closed due to thin ice.  We did skate on the lake for a while though.  Lots of fun.  Took the movie with my iPhone.

    1. Nope rivers here are mountain rivers. Flow to fast to freeze and it gets to warm here in the winter when the chinook comes. This was a small creek with a shallow lake. The creek portions were closed due to thin ice.

  1. Hi,
Looks like everyone was having some fun. You done well with the video, not bad at all, you must have a good iPhone.
I don’t know if I would be game to do this, I think I would be worried about the ice giving way underneath me, I suppose it’s different if you grew up doing things like this. 🙂

  2. Oooh… looks like so much fun. Skating through the forest — my goodness! I definitely want to be able to ice skate one day. And somewhere open like there so no one uploads my several falls.
I’m still picturing how skating through a forest would feel. Perhaps you’re moving alongside skating squirrels with little scarves rushing by with a little acorn on their sleigh.
