Blackie and the Rodeo Kings are a Canadian alt-country group. I enjoy them as the country is more of a country blues sound. The group has been going strong since the early 1990’s and, in addition to the groups many record, has spawned many solo albums by its members, Colin Linden, Stephen Fearing and Tom Wilson. A great group to follow as there is some exceptional talent here. The song I have for you is a live version of “Got You Covered”, which was released as a single in 2011 and was featured on their album, “Kings and Queens”, also released in 2011.

I think I’ve heard of these guys! I wonder if they toured down here?
They’ve likely toured everywhere. Hard working types. Fearing has spent a lot of time in Ireland playing as a duo called Fearing and White. The others have been in multiple bands and played with a lot of major players. And how you been H E. been a while.
Ugh…I’ve been working NON-STOP it seems. Seventy hour weeks are everything they are cracked up to be.
Been there. Quit that. Haven’t visited for a while. Have to catch up. Been a different kind of busy.
They sound pretty pure country.

The guy on the far right looks just to cool for school! It was interesting to watch his feet (which were practically the only thing moving on him) during the performance!
Band has some stellar members as solo artists. Linden is an Alberta staple on the music scene.
