Donald Trump Fires Himself

It is with great regret that I must announce that my favourite candidate has decided not to pursue the presidency.  Say what you want, and I say he had no chance, he would have made the next year very interesting compared to what we normally get in these races.  Maybe he’ll start a blog and continue to stir the pot.

Our New Friend – Oscar

By popular demand, we have named our new addition Oscar.  He has a story though.  we are happy to say that we have saved a dog by purchasing from a rescue society.  He is from Los Angeles and was saved from a kill shelter in Orange County.  He appears to be under a year old as he has lots of puppy in him still.  We paid 425 bucks, and he has had his shots, been micro-chipped and neutered.  A good deal.  He has a gentle soul and is very even-tempered.  He is also a bit of a goof.  I have added a couple of links.  The page about Biscuit is actually Oscar and may not be there for long as he is no longer up for adoption.  The second is a link to the organization itself, Pawsitive Match Rescue.

The Royal Wedding – Need I Say Anything

If We Lose The CBC We Lose Reporting Like This

I am now very concerned about this. I try to be politically correct, but had no idea that I was offending this group and vow to not only change my ways, but to make amends. They must have a powerful lobby group to bring this to light and I thank them for it. I also want to thank the CBC for bringing this to my, no, the world’s attention.

CBC News Strikes Again

I promised to be good on political stuff and only deal with the ludicrous.  This qualifies as dumb.  I have attached a link to this article on CBC.ca.  Note the date, May 5, 2011 (3 days after the election), read the headline, read the article and then decide on what this article really is.  I can safely say it is not news.

The Last Man Standing

As far as anyone can tell, the last man who was in combat in World War 1 has just died at 110 years old.  The article is at the link.

He was 110 years old.  I pause to reflect on the contributions made by these men, and the horrors they were exposed to.  I have nothing but admiration and respect for all who fought for their country.  Time marches on inexorably and I hope society never forgets these gallant people who lived in a different time, with different priorities, no matter what one’s personal thoughts on war are.

It’s Time For A Poll

The Gates – The Lingo of Scandals – Nipplegate

Every boys dream Super Bowl halftime show.  What could possibly go wrong.  Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake created major controversy and headlines in 2004.  The “accident” generated over a half million complaints to the FCC in the USA and caused the FCC to change their maximum fine from $27,500 to $325,000 per incident.  this resulted in a $550,000 fine to CBS.

The Gates – The Lingo of Scandals

By now, most Canadians have heard of “Mastergate”, the newest entry into pop lingo.  If you are unaware of this, Canada is having an election and this story was released about one of the contenders for our Prime Minister.

I won’t dwell on this, but needless to say, the gate linguists came up with a beauty, dubbing it Mastergate.

Over the next few weeks, I will be posting a different Gate with some background information and links.  Some will be fictional, as in The Simpsons episode that featured Waitergate, but most will be real, and hopefully all will be witty.  Feel free to post any witticisms you can add to the story.

The Wisdom of Donald Trump

The Donald Trump quote of the day is:

“As long as you are going to be thinking anyway, think big.”

This particular quote goes a long way to explaining what the Donald was thinking with his recent birther attacks on President Obama.  The best part is his taking credit for the release of the long form certificate.  Hilarious.  Is he inside his head or what.  Then to say he wants to see Obama’s  marks for college.  Priceless.

Think about this, if you are starting a run for president at 0% in the polls, and with no one even considering you as a potential candidate, what would you do.  The issue of Obama’s birth, played right, would, coupled with personal recognition factor, give an immediate boost to one’s plans, which is exactly what happened.  17% in the polls,, from way out in left field.  An impeccable strategy.

Say what you want about him, clown, joke candidate, master manipulator or whatever, he definitely knows how to tweak people.  His presidential run, if he makes one, will be a thing of beauty.
