It Is Time For Hockey To Rule

Today marks the end of the regular season in the NHL, meaning you will see a lot of hockey here for the next couple of months.  Just warning you.  If you happen to be a Vancouver Canuck fan, you may want to stop following me for this period, as I will likely have a few negative rants about this over rated group of crappy hockey players.  Suck it up cause you suck.  Oh…and GO BRUINS.

To celebrate the time of year please enjoy Hawksley Workman and “Hockey (The Greatest Game)”.  There is a drum solo for the first minute and a half, followed by the song.  The lyrics are on the wall behind the band, and you will understand Canadians love for their game more as the song goes on.

    1. My Jets too. Next year definitely. Good young team that has 3 d-men better than anything the Canucks have. That bodes well as the top 2 lines get better. They are real close.

      1. Australian Rules Football? AFL?? Arial ping pong? it’s like touch football for those that can’t handle being tackled! Don’t get me wrong it takes some skill to play the game, but it’s hardly classed as a contact sport at all…

Rugby League is more like it… Even more so is Rugby Union… They are real football games, getting rucked out, trodden on, non stop play (penalty) not this stop a game or rest while he gets up and rolls a ball under his foot… it’s get tackled, get trodden, get up and trod on the next bloke who has the ball…

        1. Agree. Spent some time watching our boys get hammered in new Zealand. Said australian because you are aussie. Haha. Point though is hockey is obviously faster and has some definite violence nut they wear the best equipment technology has. Aussie and rugby. No equipment. That is nuts.

          1. League and union? Sure… otherwise AFL is simply grid iron (american football) tag…

I think we need to agree we are playing on to different levels of sport and brutality between the two Rugby’s and Hockey…

                    1. So to sum up. Afl is full contact soccer. League is American football without pads and union is bloody craziness that I loved watching during the world cup.

                    2. Close enough without having to explain all the details…

Actually that is probably how I am going to explain it to people when they ask me from now on…

This is poetry of rugby League – the state of origin… Kinda like playoffs but bigger. (per capita wise)

The second is the war dances performed during the world cup… it is such a shame the Hawaiins cannot perfom their before such matches…

                  1. haha. I actually posted the all blacks haka during the world cup. I got hooked watching Canada play (and lose). These guys amaze me. The longevity of a career must be pretty short
